IC-SEED (Integrated Circuits, Systems-on-Chip, Electronics and Embedded Design Research Laboratory) is a research laboratory in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tarsus University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar Çiçek.
Our laboratory focuses on the design, implementation and testing of electronic systems, from the transistor level up to the application level. Our research spans a broad range of topics, from integrated circuit and system-on-chip (SoC) design to FPGA-based hardware acceleration, and from microcontroller- and microprocessor-based embedded systems to analog and digital electronic circuits.
Our current work covers a wide spectrum, from processor architectures to application-specific hardware units. Our main research topics include the design and customization of microprocessors based on modern instruction set architectures such as the open-source RISC-V, hardware accelerators for applications such as artificial intelligence, cryptography and signal processing, and FPGA-based system implementations. In the field of embedded systems, we work on microcontroller-based hardware and software development, integration of sensor and communication interfaces, low-power designs and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. In addition, within the scope of circuits and systems theory, the analysis of nonlinear and chaotic systems and their realization as electronic circuits are among the research areas of our laboratory.
In our laboratory, undergraduate and graduate students take an active role in every step of the design process, from the initial idea to a working prototype.
